Your partner in satellite communications engineering
Summary
Global Satellite Engineering (GSE) was established in 2004 as an engineering and design firm to provide innovative engineering solutions for the satellite industry. Over the years, GSE has built up a reputation second to none with solutions being deployed for the military, aerospace, oil & gas, disaster recovery, shipping, security, marine and mining environments; with accreditations from all of the major satellite networks including: Iridium, Inmarsat, Thuraya and Globalstar.
We design and create a wide range of products and services that range from hardware solutions such as satellite terminals to software solutions such as tracking solutions. Each of our products and services are designed to solve an opportunity in the marketplace and we pride ourselves in developing creative and innovative solutions.
What we do
GSE combines next generation technology with satellite and terrestrial communications, to help its clients improve their lives and build businesses by developing new opportunities. In many cases the communication needs are real-time and for mission-critical applications where transmission of data is vital. With a strong relationship with the satellite networks, and growing pool of intellectual property, fulfilling these needs with our product line is easy. From one of our first projects for transmitting encrypted video over satellite for an avionics project, which many said could not be done, we designed, tested, and deployed a solution within six months using a bank of 16 satellite modems with custom firmware and a new multilink protocol designed in house. Many similar projects simply show our teams dedication to deliver a solution on time and with the most features possible. Overall, we are ready for a challenge and excited by the potential solution.

What we make
MCG Series Development:
The MCG-108 was the beginning of the MCG series, and is an 8 channel satellite solution designed for commercial SIP interfaces including business banking, government applications, and transparent telecom failover. The solution was designed as a fully redundant platform with fully transparent failover. The MCG-101 was then designed with the same fully digital backbone, but in a single channel flavor, and included an onboard Linux platform, WiFi, and FXS port. As the terminal is now in it’s third generation, the platform is rock solid and well tested with millions of minutes on the air.
Aurora Development:
The Aurora is the next generation MCG-101 terminal, built into a waterproof dome with all of the electronics inside the antenna. The unit is very easy to install and setup with a single cable for power and below decks Ethernet.
GSatMicro Development:
To design the smallest satellite tracker, we had to push for high component density with a very complex feature list. In an area approximately half the size of a business card (45x40mm) and a single side for components, we have packed 100+ components including an ARM7 Microcontroller, GPS, Galileo, Glonass, USB, RS232, accelerometer, digital compass, lithium polymer battery charger, analog inputs, relay outputs, and power supplies. This has a very complex set of challenges including size, power efficiency, fast GPS acquisition, and extremely low sleep power consumption. We are currently integrating quad band 2G and 3G modems into the product by using Laser Direct Structuring technology to create a 3 dimensional high performance antenna and a flexible ground plane internally. We also designed the injection molds in house and manufacture plastics locally in the US for quality control and conformity.
RF Development:
We continue to invest in the future of satellite communications and most importantly, the space link. By investing in RF research and design, we will be able to utilize our hardware intelligence and RF segment into a singular solution. For our customers, this means more compact and higher performance terminals in the future. We call this our secret department of engineers, as they will determine the future of satellite communications.
Future Development:
We are constantly innovating and filling gaps in the market with creative and groundbreaking technologies. Just-another-generic-terminal is something you will never see from GSE. Our development pipeline only produces solutions that solve problems or create new opportunites. Our promise to our current clients and our future partners is that we will continue to imagine, design and create custom innovative solutions to enhance their businesses.
